Cotton States Properties is honored to be a 2nd generation home builder in the Cobb county area. This locally owned company has been living,raising their families and building in Cobb county for over 50 years. It has truly become a “family tradition” for these homebuilders.

When you love what you do, it is tradition to pass down the skills, customs and beliefs from generation to generation. John Hungerbhuler and Jeff Hedden loved homebuilding and their passion has been passed on to their children, aka the younger generation.

Jeff Hedden formed Jeff A. Hedden Builders in 1959. Under this company, he built in award-winning communities such as Chadds Lake, Princeton Square, Dorsett, Chestnut Hill, Chandler Pond, Warren Creek and Addie’s Pond. In 1972, he became partners with John Hungerbhuler and the family tradition began in earnest as they brought their children to work with them and they learned the business from the ground up.

In 1997 Peter Hungerbhuler and Evelyn Hedden formed JPH Properties and is associated with Cotton States Properties, one of the leading residential developers in metro Atlanta. They added a third partner to Cotton States Properties with years of experience. Doug Tant, Director of Home Building for Jeff A. Hedden Builders was brought on board as well. Doug is committed to all phases of the building process to assure quality from start to finish.

A Christmas Tradition, Santa in the Square, Lights of Life Holiday Display all minutes from Cotton States new homes

During the first three weekends of December 2014, The Strand will produce its biggest and most elaborate show yet, A Christmas Tradition. This song and dance revue will show off The Strand’s awe inspiring sets and effects like has never been seen before, as well as the diva voices and high energy dances that Strand patrons have come to know and love.

Songs spotlighted include Christmas and holiday classics like White Christmas, Santa Baby, and All I Want for Christmas is You, as well as funky favorites like Leroy the Redneck Reindeer, Feliz Navidad, and Run, Rudolph Run. A Christmas Tradition is guaranteed to make the entire family dance, clap and enjoy the spirit of the holidays-from Santa loving six year olds to out-of-town in-laws.

After kicking off the holiday season with the Marietta Square [seen below]Christmas Tree Lighting on December 4th, Santa’s Workshop opened in Glover Park in Marietta Square. Bring the kids to visit Santa’s Workshop on weekends in December, 2014. Photos with Santa are available, and afterward visitors are encouraged to visit the shops and restaurants surrounding the Square for fun holiday gifts and great food and drinks.

The annual “Lights of Life” holiday display at Life University takes place every night from November 27 to December 31, 2014. School Registration Just Around the Corner….Award-Winning Schools in Cobb County….hurry in to select yours

Why should you consider a new home in Cobb County….it’s the schools! Cobb County Schools are award-winning schools and scores are above the national average in many areas. In 2013 Cobb Schools scored higher than the 2013 State Averages for College and Career Readiness. Scores for Cobb County Schools on the 2013 College and Career Ready Performance Index (CCRPI) topped average scores for Georgia schools at all three levels – elementary, middle and high. The Georgia Department of Education today released the second year of ratings under the statewide accountability system, which measures on a 100-point scale the academic achievement and progress of individual schools and their school systems. The state revised several formulas of the 2013 CCRPI for greater accuracy and clarity and recalculated the 2012 baseline scores based on the updated calculations to allow for fair comparison.

Cobb elementary schools scored 81.3, a 1.1 point increase from the readjusted 2012 score and 3.3 points higher than the state average. Local middle schools rated 83.4, a 1.9 increase over 2012 and 8.4 points higher than the state. The CCRPI score for Cobb high schools decreased by six points to 77.7, yet remains 5.7 points greater than the statewide high school average. The combined district score for the Cobb County School District is 80.7.
